Last Sunday I attended a fashion event organized by the student unoin of IDC, a college which I attend in Herziliya, Israel. This event was called Fashion IDC. The event was covered by the media quite nicely especially since it was a charity fundraising event where all the money actually went to an organization called Hayim Association which helps children who have cancer in Israel.
A lot of effort was put into this event and was supposedly known to be IDC’s most extravagant events. The Fashion show featured the top Israeli fashion designers’ collections modeled by students from the IDC and some professional models as well. The event costed 50 NIS for the students, 75 NIS for everyone else that are not students and if you wanted to have a seat by the runway there’s a ticket for 200NIS.Overall looking at the event as a whole it seems to appear to be one of the grandest events of IDC yet the media fails to show that not all was so perfect actually. The impact of the event was obviously the most important here since the money goes to helping Children with Cancer but whether all the people who attended the event enjoyed that’s another thing already. I hope that next year’s Fashion IDC event will be better organized so that all people who paid get to enjoy the whole event as a whole. I believe that if it’s organized properly next year it would really be one of the top events IDC’s student union organizes.
